A 47-YEAR-OLD gardener of Shangri-La Mactan Resort was found dead with a lacerated wound in the forehead within the resort premises at past 5 a.m. yesterday.

Arnolfo Canete, a resident of Maxcenter Barangay Mactan in Lapu-Lapu City was rushed to the Lapu-Lapu City Hospital by resort staff in hopes of reviving him but it proved futile as doctors declared him dead.

PO3 Lydo Pinos of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Homicide Section said the resort steward identified as Jun-Jun Dano was walking past the garden when he saw a leg on the pathway and checked it out, only to see Canete lying unresponsive.

Pinos said an autopsy will be done to determine the cause of death. No one in the resort knew if Canete had any altercation with anyone.
