UC Med opens School of Medicine and Medical Arts building

To accommodate more students, the University of Cebu School of Medicine (UC Med) opened its seven-story School of Medicine and Medical Arts Building along Ouano Avenue, Mandaue City on Thursday afternoon.

UC president Lawyer Augusto Go said that the university aims to serve more students not only in Cebu but also students coming from neighboring cities in the Visayas and across all regions in the country.

As a medical campus, the newly-opened building houses state-of-the-art facilities that facilitate outcome-based education which is one of UC Med’s trusts.

The building has a state-of-the-art amphitheater laboratories for biochemistry, physiology, pharmacology, gross anatomy, histology, microbiology, pathology and parasitology in its sixth and seventh floors.

Discussion and faculty rooms as well as the medical library are on the fifth floor of the building.

The mezzanine up to the fourth floors house doctor clinics and administrative offices.
