TWO more municipal police chiefs in the province of Cebu were relieved from their posts for failing to address the illegal drug problem in their respective areas.

Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO) director, Senior Supt. Eric Noble ordered the relief of Chief Insp. Jaime Santillan and Senior Insp. Andres Alpas, chiefs of the Barili and Alcantara municipal police stations, respectively.

“They were not performing well. I need station commanders who are aggressive,” Noble told reporters.

Santillan and Alpas were transferred to the CPPO headquarters.

Noble appointed spouses Senior Inspectors Jose Angelo Acupinpin and Rosemarie Acupinpin as the new station commanders of Barili and Alcantara, respectively.

He said he will relieve other station commanders who are not performing well in their work.

The CPPO director earlier replaced the four police stations chiefs of Camotes Islands for failure to address the illegal drug problem in the locality.

“Kaysa ako pa ang ma-relieve, sila na ang uunahin ko (Rather than me getting relieved from my post, it would be better to replace police station chiefs who are not performing well),” Noble said.

The new station commanders, Jose Angelo and Rosemarie, welcomed their new assignments.

“This is a challenge for us, but we are excited at the same time,” Jose Angelo said in an interview yesterday.

Noble said he is monitoring all police stations in the province every day to find out whether or not policemen are doing their job well.

“The statistics speaks for itself,” he said.
