ALL 76 barangay officials and employees of Banilad in Cebu City tested negative of illegal drugs use, the Cebu City Office for Substance Abuse Prevention (Cosap) said yesterday.

Dr. Alice Utlang, Cosap chief, said Banilad is the third out of five barangays whose officials and employees tested negative this year. The other two were Barangays Malubog and Bonbon.

“But Barangays Banilad, Bonbon and Malubog cannot yet be declared as drug-free barangays because we have not tested all employees yet,” Utlang said.

She said some employees were unable to take the test due to valid concerns.

So far, Dr. Utlang said they found six employees in Barangay Poblacion Pardo and three from Barangay Talamban to have initially tested positive of illegal drugs use.
