AT least 62 out of 80 barangays in Cebu City have submitted the lists of drug personalities in their respective areas to the regional Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA-7).

Barangay officials have until today (March 15) to comply with the agency’s directive, PDEA-7 director Yogi Filemon Ruiz said.

“If I were to decide, those who fail to submit the list of drug personalities should face administrative sanctions. I think I just have to let the DILG (Department of Interior and Local Government) act on it,” Ruiz said.

The Ombudsman-Visayas earlier suspended for six months nine barangay officials of Ermita whom PDEA-7 filed administrative cases against.

Ruiz said the officials failed to cooperate with PDEA in a drug raid of a “shabu tiangge” (flea market) located 500 meters from the barangay hall on Nov. 6 last year.
