Two persons were arrested in an anti-drug operation on Friday morning in Barangay Cansojong, Talisay City.
Police officers of Talisay City Police Station conducted a buy-bust operation after receiving complaints from some residents about the alleged illegal drug activities of Jolan Nere, his son Dixie Rob Nere, 18, and their cohort Brian Malang, in the area.
SPO2 Cecilio Miñoza, who led the operation, used P200 as buy-bust money. But after sensing that he was transacting to a cop, Jolan immediately ran, leaving behind Dixie Rob and Malang, who were arrested by the police.
Confiscated from Dixie were 12 small sachets of alleged shabu and another six small packs of suspected shabu from Malang.
Despite being at large, SPO2 Miñoza said they would still file a case against Jolan for drug pushing.
Meanwhile, a Muslim father and his son are now being hunted by Sogod police after they were tagged as the suspects in the murder of Barangay Damulog councilor last Thursday night.
PO3 Raymond Bacordo of Sogod Police Station said 60-year-old Roberto Abalos, married and also a retired fireman, was killed because of jealousy.
The suspects identified as Sam Pandapatan, 40, and his son Swaylee, 20, who were temporarily residing in the area, suddenly barged inside the house of Abalos and shot him several times.
According to PO3 Bacordo, Sam allegedly got mad after he heard a rumor that his wife and the victim had an illicit affair.
