75 arrested in Oplan Pokemon; P600k worth of drugs seized

At least 75 persons were arrested in Cebu City in yet another another “One Time, Big Time” where simultaneous police operations were conducted against illegal drugs, gambling, and other forms of crimes on Thursday.

Forty-one individuals were caught for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Senior Supt. Joel Doria, director of the Cebu City Police Office, said they confiscated at least 80.04 grams of illegal drugs valued at P617,459.

There were also 24 persons arrested for violating Presidential Decree 1602, which penalizes persons involved in illegal gambling, while two persons were caught for violation of Republic Act 9287, which penalizes individuals who engage in illegal numbers games.

The warrant section of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) also served three arrest warrants. Three suspected thieves were also caught, and another for allegedly bringing an unlicensed firearm.

Aside from packs of shabu, the Cebu City police also seized eight gambling machines, a .38 caliber revolver, and P1,360 cash believed to be proceeds from the illegal activities.
