Kate Chantal Rodriguez has finally made a decision.

The 16-year-old volleybelle is bringing her talents to the Southwestern University (SWU) girls volleyball team as they prepare for the upcoming Cesafi season.

Rodriguez, from Pardo, Cebu, declined the offers of four other teams, including a UAAP powerhouse, and chose to stay with the Cobras because it was “closer to home.”

It can be recalled that the Pardo, Cebu native also drew the interest of the University of the Philippines Lady Maroons, University of Cebu, University of San Jose-Recoletos and the University of Southern Philippines Foundation.

Rodriguez rocked the local volleyball earlier last month after deciding to leave the University of San Carlos (USC) due to a hefty miscellaneous fees of the school that she helped win the Cesafi girls’ title in 2014. She said part of the reason for picking the Cobras is also because of the benefits it offers.

“I’m already enrolled at SWU and I chose to join them because of their nice privileges,” said the utility spiker Rodriguez.

Rodriguez, who was the primary offensive scorer during her stint with the Baby Warriors, said that she has accepted her role in the team and vows to willingly help SWU return to the top after just finishing third in the Cesafi wars last year.

“My adjustment is just okay. I’ll try my best to adjust to my team and I will accept everything that will happen,” she added.

The former USC team captain Rodriguez is set to make her competitive debut on a Cobras jersey today in the 15th season of the Shakey’s Girls Volleyball League – Central Visayas Leg.
