EXPECT more young triathletes to compete in the Alaska Ironkids Triathlon 2017.

This after organizers of the race slated August 5 at the Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort and Spa in Lapu-Lapu City said they already have surpassed the number of entries of last year’s race.

And there’s two months more to go before race day.

“We saw an upswing of the number of participants this year that’s why we are confident that we can reach 500 and surpass last year’s 400 participants,” Galura said. “The bulk of the participants are expected to register near the deadline of the registration.”

The deadline for registration is set at the end of July though no specific date has been given yet.

Galura is also the organizer of the Cobra Ironman 70.3 Philippines slated August 6.

The race is for triathletes aged six to 14. Participants will be divided into different age-groups.
