TEN public schools in Lanao del Norte, La Union, Benguet, Capiz, and Leyte are getting digital technology packages that can help enhance the education of their kindergarten students.
Smart Communications is donating units of the Smart TechnoCart, a 2×2 sq. ft. mobile laboratory which contains 20 tablets for students, as well as a laptop, projector and mobile WiFi for the teacher. Each tablet is preloaded with Batibot, the first mobile application in Filipino that is aligned with the kindergarten curriculum of the Department of Education.
Teachers of the recipient schools recently received training on tablet basics, as well as on child and curriculum development provided by the Community of Learners Foundation (COLF).
Since the program was launched in June 2015, Smart and kind sponsors have donated TechnoCarts to 40 public schools in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. These schools serve about 10,000 kindergarten students. Individuals and organizations wanting to help spread the benefits of digital learning to more public schools may email [email protected] for more information.
