Indie hoop starts

IT WAS a torrid day of basketball in the second season of the Indie Basketball Cebu League as it opened with 14 games last Sunday at the Pope John XXIII Seminary gym in Mabolo. Leading the cast of winners were the highly-touted Wardogs and RMA, which toppled their respective opponents in the 6-foot under class. The Wardogs defeated Team Elite Ball Club, 62-58, while RMA routed NLTD, 81-50. In other results, One on One beat Frostbite, 74-50 while the Stallions defeated TWS, 75-28. Jomix iCafe upended the Penguins, 56-48 while the Ballers nipped Nemesis Upgrade, 46-40. Project Cars bested the Hanggaws, 75-38 while the Zuellig Pharma got a default win over the CICCT. The Romans emerged victorious over the Northern Star Elastics, 76-56 while the Underdogs overwhelmed the Outkast, 57-52. The SMCCO clobbered the Dayon Ball Club, 67-44, while John 3:16 defeated the Xboyz, 48-36. Uratex were also winners over Satok Recruits, 70-49. In the lone game in the Elite category, the powerhouse ASPA blasted Arsenal, 51-39.
