Lightning strikes down elderly woman

AN elderly woman died after she was struck by lightning in Barangay Talisay in Sta. Fe town on Bantayan Island yesterday.

Marina Necessario sustained severe burns as she died on the spot while her two sons Ranel and Rolly sustained injuries, said PO1 Albert Jimenez of the Sta. Fe police.

The Necessarios came from Barangay Kinatarcan, a separate islet of Sta. Fe town, and they were about to dock in Barangay Talisay when they were struck by lightning.

Marina died on the spot while Rolly and Ranel were immediately brought to Bantayan District Hospital for treatment.
