JEZREL Baguio and Reah Mae Garrucho ruled their respective divisions in the 12-kilometer race in yesterday’s CBX 30th Anniversary Bubble Run at Cebu Business Park.
Baguio, who usually joins shorter distances in Cebu City’s weekly fun runs, showcased his ability to compete in a longer distance by topping the men’s division. Baguio clocked 45 minutes and four seconds to hold off Peter Canumay (45:43). Karl Lee rounded up the podium in 49:16.
Garrucho finished the women’s race in 56:38 to beat ultra marathoner Sandra Soliano (58:10). Coming in third was Analyn Lu (1:20.42).
Wilben Polancos (23:25) and Francesca Rago (29:32) dominated the 6k race. Polancos defeated Clint Tyler (24:11) while CJ Lipure placed third (26:26). Renaly Muñoz placed second behind Rago in the women’s race in 36:40 while Gina Rota placed third at 36:47.
Jessie Abelgos ruled the men’s 3k race in 11:58 while Marielle Estreba took the women’s crown in 12:51.
A total of 1,000 runners answered the starting gun in the first running event organized by CBX Corporation, one of Cebu’s pioneering IT hardware and gadgets companies, to celebrate its 30th anniversary.
