Missing girl’s parents ask mayor’s help to locate her
Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña dangled an initial cash reward worth P20,000 to anyone who can provide information to the whereabouts of the 13-year-old girl who accused a Cebu-based lawyer-broadcaster of raping her.
Osmeña’s announcement came after the girl’s parents visited his office and asked for help to find their child who has been missing for five days.
The parents whose names were not disclosed told reporters in a press conference Tuesday afternoon that they also asked the mayor to persuade the regional office of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI-7) to file charges against the lawyer broadcaster, whose name is withheld pending investigation at the Cebu City Prosecutors Office as soon as possible.
The mother said her daughter went missing after she left her in the lobby of the pink room of the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center last Friday, July 21.
“Gi-instruct ko sa doctor nga musulod ko sa pink room kay interviewohon lagi ko. Pag-gawas nako, naa pa akong anak. Gipasulod nasad ko balik unya paggawas nako, mao na to nga wala na siya sa lobby (I was instructed by the doctor to enter the pink room to start the interview. When I went outside, my child was there. I was told to enter the pink room once again, and when I went out a few minutes later, my daughter was not there anymore),” the mother said.
