AFTER dominating the past three legs of the Beach Volleyball Republic (BVR), the Liloan Redline pair of Jade Becaldo and Rommel Pepito knew that their historic title-reign had to come to an end at some point.

Over the weekend, Becaldo and Pepito who won the Ilocos, Moalboal, and Sta. Ana legs in the past three months, found their match as they fell short to the Far Eastern University (FEU) tandem of Kevin Hadlocon and Jeremiah Barrica, 21-13, 21-19 in the BVR Legazpi leg in Legazpi, Albay.

“We didn’t have time to practice so for me we don’t deserve to win. However, it was okay because we learned a lot from the loss,” Becaldo said.

In the distaff side, FEU’s Bernadeth Pons and Kyle Atienza blasted the pair of Amanda Villanueva and Cebuana Rap Aguilar, 21-13, 21-11 to secure the women’s title.
