Crossfit Subtero-Primo Builders downs Petron Global Carriers to take solo lead
THE 2009 Crossfit Subtero-Primo Builders finally caught up with the 2007 Petron Global Carriers as they trounced the latter, 58-47, in Division C of the 22nd Sacred Heart Ateneo Alumni Basketball Athletic Association (SHAABAA) last Sunday at the Magis Eagles Arena in Canduman, Mandaue City.
Batch 2009 dominated the middle periods, 37-17, to take a 49-29 lead into the fourth period en route to the victory that gave the team the solo lead in the standings at 6-1 (win-loss).
Petron suffered its first loss and dropped to 5-1.
Joseph Roma led Batch 2009 with 10 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals while Justin Gatchalian nearly had a double-double with nine points and 12 boards. Four others scored between eight and seven points to underscore Batch 2009’s balanced offensive attack.
In other Division C games, 2015 People’s General blew away the 2004 King Properties, 73-57, for their fourth victory in five games. Lorenzo Otero paced the winning side with 19 points, four boards, four assists and two steals, Anton Chua added 16 markers, five rebounds, eight assists and three steals while Ryle Tagalog pitched in 16 points, five boards, three dimes and three swipes.
2005 Bizol also tied People’s General in the standings at 4-1 with a 51-44 win over the 2014 Bling Nation. Arthur Lao put up 18 markers and 12 boards to power Bizol to the victory.
