INTERNATIONAL APPEAL

Netizens were mixed over news that 39 countries signed a joint statement calling on the Philippines to resolve the unabated extrajudicial killings of drug suspects.

Noe Villagonzalo said countries should “look at the killings” happening in their own backyards. “There are incidents of mosque and hospital bombings and killing of civilians in your own nations.”

Merlo Gulf said, “Those countries are only advocating the rule of law. They are not against anti-drug campaign, but what they are against is the extrajudicial killings. Who are we to judge who deserves to die or not?”

Rachel Martinez said, “These countries are suggesting PH on what it should do but they can’t even look at the ‘scenarios’ and ‘situation’ in their own lands.”

John Dee added, “The only problem with those countries is that they don’t know what is happening in our country. They only base their knowledge and comments on the news they read.’
