THE Convergys Converters moved a step forward in their bid for a third consecutive crown after destroying the ePerformax Reds, 94-44, in the Elite Classic division of the Tanduay Athletics E-Leagues for Basketball Season 13, last Sunday at the City Sports Club-Cebu Gym.
Four players scored in twin digits for the third-seeded Converters led by Jamie Pacquiao, who had 17 and Kenneth Dysam, who punched in 14. Aldene Batino and Primo Paloma added 11 and 10 points, respectively.
The writing was on the wall early as Convergys zoomed ahead, 35-6, which set the tone for the lopsided win.
Next up for the Converters will be a tough match-up against the Accenture Sharks.
Also moving on to the next round were the fourth-ranked Lexmark Stallions, who logged a 13-point win over the Supportsave Dragons, 82-69.
Versatile forward Sylvester Millevo was the catalyst for Lexmark as he exploded for 32 points on top of six rebounds and two steals.
Lexmark will next battle the Teleperformance All Stars.
Siegfred Ofonda and Jake Pia helped out Lexmark’s cause with 16 and 12 markers, respectively.
