Investigation underway after barangay tanod killed in Argao

An investigation for the murder of a barangay tanod (barangay police) in the town of Argao is now underway.

The victim, identified as Danny Cotillar, died after suffering from multiple gunshot wounds on Sunday morning.

SPO3 Jose Yamasaki Repompo of Argao Police STation said that the 47-year old victim was onboard his motorcycle when four unidentified men blocked his way and fired shots at him.

Cotillar was the chief tanod of barangay Mompeller.

One empty shell of caliber .45 pistol was recovered from the crime scene.

Congressman of the Second District of Cebu Wilfredo Caminero has already ordered Argao police to conduct thorough investigation on Cotillar’s death and other cases of killing in the town.
