It’s the time of the year when most people go on road trips to different parts of Cebu to either take a short break in some faraway resort or visit departed loved ones in the provinces.
But going on a road trip will only be worthwhile if one has a dependable vehicle. Something like the Chevrolet Colorado.
The Colorado is one of the more noted pickup trucks in the market today despite its age. The facelift done last year helped the macho midsize truck keep in step with the newer batch of pickups as it now boasts of a new look, a better-tuned engine and more sophisticated interior features.

Bad weather usually means bad news for Cebuano motorists. Expect flooding at different parts of Cebu after about an hour of downpour. But that’s no problem for the Colorado as this truck boasts of an 800-mm (31.5 inches) wading depth, tied for the highest among the current batch of stock pickups in the market. So don’t be alarmed when faced with a riverlike highway anymore. Don’t worry, we actually tried letting it “swim” in a Media Ride and Drive event last year in Danao City.
3. Safety first
The Colorado has Traction Control System (TCS), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Panic Brake Assist (PBA), Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill Descent Control (HDC), Hill Start Assist (HSA), Anti-Rolling Protection and Trailer Sway Control. If that’s not enough to convince you, we don’t know what will.
4. Fuel efficient
The Duramax engine has been tuned to offer better performance, improved fuel economy and lower emissions so it’s not only strong but also efficient and eco-friendly. So you won’t be hurting Mother Earth while enjoying the beauty she has.
5. Easy to drive.
Despite its huge frame, the Colorado is easy to handle. Even ladies will have an easy time driving this beast, thanks to its light electronic power steering and high seating position that gives the driver a better view of all four corners. Plus, the Colorado’s Chevrolet MyLink Infotainment system allows easy smartphone connection which will surely delight passengers while enjoying the long drive.
