AFTER bagging the Plate Division trophy in the recently concluded Asian Games in Colombo, the Philippine Volcanoes national rugby team will look to continue its winning momentum as they compete in the Cebu 10s International Rugby Festival slated Nov. 11 at the Cebu International School.

The Volcanoes will be joined by 13 teams including the defending champions Alabang Eagles and the home team Cebu Dragons in the tournament participated by 13 teams from Australia, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Papua New Guinea and around the Philippines.

This year’s Cebu 10s Rugby Festival, which aims to develop the sport of rugby in the country, has the biggest field assembled in the 10-year history of the tournament organized by the local rugby club Cebu Dragons.

A junior tournament by the VISMIN Rugby Football Union is set to follow on Nov. 18 comprising at least 300 kids from around the city in conjunction with the Philippine Rugby Football Union’s project of developing future rugby players.
