THE PHILIPPINE Collegiate Champions League (PCCL) Visayas Regional 3×3 basketball games this Saturday at the University of San Carlos (USC) gym will be seen free of charge for students and basketball fans alike.
The announcement was made by PCCL Executive Director Joe Lipa who said, “PCCL is inviting the students and basketball fans of Cebu City to watch for free the exciting 3×3 games and cheer for their respective teams as they compete for a place in the National Grand Finals.”
The PCCL is establishing the very first school-based National 3×3 Basketball Championship, starting with the Visayas tournament this weekend.
Ten school-based squads from Cebu, Bohol, Roxas City and Dumaguete City are competing in the Visayas regional games. The champion of this tournament will earn a slot in the National Grand Finals slated on February 2018.
Aside from the Visayas stop, four other regional tournaments will take place as the PCCL seeks to promote 3×3 basketball on a nationwide basis especially after the event was deemed part of the Olympic games starting in 2020 with the Tokyo Olympics.
The Visayas regional champion will join the winners of the regional games for North/Central Luzon, South Luzon/Bicol, Mindanao and National Capital Region.
