The QBE Generals outlasted the Contact Solutions Flying Lemurs, 63-61, to sweep the finals series, 2-0, and win the championship in the Evo League of the Tanduay Athletics E-Leagues for Basketball Season 13 last Sunday at the City Sports Club-Cebu Gym.

Norman Guigue led QBE with 17 points and eight rebounds while Johnrey Girasol came through with 16 markers to power the Generals to the title.

Evo League MVP Roberto Castro tried but failed to resuscitate the Flying Lemurs bid to equalize the series with 11 points, 13 rebounds, five assists, three blocks and two steals.

The Teleperformance All Stars, meanwhile, tied the Elite Classic finals with a 71-67 overtime victory over the two-time defending champions Convergys Converters in Game 2.

The winner-take-all Game 3 is set this Saturday at the same venue.

The Contact Solutions came out firing and led, 13-9, after the first before QBE got their acts together and outgunned the Flying Lemurs in the second, 21-13, to take a 30-26 lead to halftime.

The Generals bumped their lead to six, 49-43, heading to the last canto and finished the Lemurs off with a fantastic defensive stand during that stretch to annex their first title in this tournament.

In the Elite Classic finals, the Converters seemingly had the inside track on the sweep as they got off to a fast start and led, 20-8, after the first.

But the All Stars retaliated with a 21-12 outing in the second to trail by just three, 29-32, at the turn.

The All Stars then made their run in the third, blowing away the Converters, 26-14, to bring a 55-46 lead heading to the final 10 minutes of action.

But just as they have in this tournament, the Converters came roaring back to tie the game at 61-all and send the game to overtime.

Teleperformance, however, proved steadier in the clutch as it gutted out the win during the extra session to tie the series up.

Marcos Jungoy III paced the All Stars with 21 points and eight rebounds while Jayper San Brigoli helped out with 12.

Elite Classic MVP Franz Dysam led Convergys with 20 points, 10 rebounds and six assists.
