TWO men lost their lives while three others were injured when two motorcycles collided head-on on Saturday in Sitio Ilag, Barangay Cantabaco, Toledo City — a western Cebu town estimated to be 46 km from Cebu City.

Jemeson Tura, 38, of Barangay Magdugo, Toledo City, and a certain Gilbert of Barangay Ilihan, Toledo City, were killed in the road accident, said PO2 Jonathan Cuizon of the Toledo City Police Station.

Robert Camanso, 31, of Barangay Magdugo; Robert Mercader, 18, and Marvin Sobito, who are both from Barangay Ilihan, were also injured in the accident.

Cuizon said that investigation showed that Gilbert, who was driving a Krypton motorcycle with two backriders — Mercader and Sobito — and was heading north, allegedly overshot his lane and encroached on the opposite lane as he negotiated a curved portion of the road.

Gilbert’s motorcycle slammed into the Honda XRM motorcycle driven by Tura, who had Camanso as his backrider, and throwing all persons on the road.

Both motorcycle drivers suffered head injuries which caused their deaths while their backriders suffered body injuries and were rushed to the hospital for treatment.
