LILOAN TOWN

TWO persons were arrested by the police in Liloan town, northern Cebu yesterday morning.

Paul Barrosa Pilapil, 43, and Arnel Pepito Barrosa, 36, were captured by the town’s policemen headed by Chief Insp. Randy Korret in separate manhunt operations.

Both suspects have existing warrants of arrest issued by the Regional Trial Court (RTC) months ago.

Pilapil was arrested at 8:15 a.m. in Barangay Catarman for violation of Section 5 of Republic Act 9262, an act defining violence against women and their children.

Barrosa, meanwhile, was captured by the police later at 10:45 a.m. in Sitio Greenhills, Barangay Poblacion, for violation of Republic Act 7610, Section 10, a law against child abuse, exploitation and discrimination.

The suspects are currently detained at the Liloan Police Station detention pending the filing of charges against them.

A bail of P2,000 is recommended for Pilapil to obtain temporary liberty, while for Barrosa is P80,000.
