Just four months after he was appointed as tourism chief for Central Visayas, Joshua Judd Lanete II has resigned from his post citing health reasons.

Lanete was appointed as the regional director of the Department of Tourism in Central Visayas (DOT-7) last August 2017.

Sources, who declined to be named as they have no authority to speak over the matter, said Shahlimar Tamano of the DOT Head Office will arrive in Cebu tomorrow to serve as officer-in-charge.

There are no further information regarding Lanete’s resignation.

Lanete was former the mayor of Placer, Masbate and served from 2007 to 2016.

He ran for vice governor under the Nationalist People’s Coalition in the May 2016 election but lost to Jo Kristine Revil  of the National Unity Party.

Lanete replaced the late Catalino Chan III who passed away in March 2017.
