ABOUT 23 families in Unit 5, Sitio Oppra in Barangay Kalunasan Cebu City asked the province if the lot which they occupy is owned by the province or city.

Bienvenido Buac Jr., president of Kalunasan People’s Initiative Assocation Inc., said people who identified themselves as working for Cebu City Hall’s Division and Welfare of the Urban Poor (DWUP) warned them that their houses may be demolished.

Buac and two officials met with Cebu Gov. Hilario Davide III behind closed doors and the governor assured them that he will meet with City Hall on their concern.

“Naay mubisita namo, mu-claim nga ang luna kay sa Cebu City daw unya naa sad uban nga taga province daw (There are some visitors who claim the land is owned by Cebu City while some came from the province),” Buac said.
