The members of Clique5
THEY can sing, dance, and act.
These are the reasons why everyone should watch out for rising all-male group Clique5.
The group is composed of seven members namely Karl, Marco, Sean, Josh, Clay, Tim, and Rocky, aged 17 to 20. They are being managed by 3:16 Events and Talent Management Company.
Last Thursday, the Clique5 members were in Cebu City to promote their carrier single, “Pwede Ba, Teka Muna” and their concert at Music Museum on February 27.
“It (Pwede Ba, Teka Muna) is an upbeat song para sa millennials. Siyempre para ito sa isang taong hinahangaan mo,” Rocky said during a press conference with Cebu’s Entertainment Press at Max’s Restaurant in Ayala Center Cebu last Thursday.
Rocky, who is also a theater actor, is dubbed as the “Boy Next Door” in the group.
The group is also launching their first titled album this month.
Aside from “Pwede Ba, Teka Muna,” other songs in the album are “Ako Na Lang Sana,” “Bakit Hindi,” “Magmula Ngayon,” “Mabuti Nalang,” and “Sana Naman” composed by director Joven Tan.
“Actually di naman po namin kinukumpara group namin sa iba. Yung group namin is versatile. We can act, sing, and dance. Di po kami nag fo-focus sa singing lang. Nag fo-focus kami sa tatlo,” Sean said.
Sean is the “Kilabot ng Dance Floor” in the group. He is a former member of the dance group Elev8 who performed in the late German Moreno show “Master Showman” on GMA Network.
Clique5 was formed last August 2017. The members were discovered in a talent search while some of them auditioned.
“Clique5 is a group of people that shared the same interests (singing, dancing, and acting). We are versatile,” Marco said when asked how he would describe their group.
Born and raised in Vienna, Austria, Mario is called “The Hunk” in the group.
He was discovered in the Circle of Ten Walk to Fame before he officially joined Clique5.
Since they just entered the industry last year, the group continues to undergo singing, dancing, and acting workshops.
The group’s voice lesson is handled by Sweet Plantado-Tiongson of The Company while their dance workshops are handled by Pia Pangyarihan of SexBomb Dancers.
The group just finished their workshop at Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA). At present, Clique5 is undergoing another workshop with Director Emman Dela Cruz.
“Dapat may time management. Kasi aside sa rehearsals and voice lessons we also go to school. Kinakaya and enjoy
naman po,” Tim said.
Tim is the brother of Rocky. He called the “Teen Crush” of the group. Just like his brother, he is also a theater actor.
Most of the members are in senior high school and college level except for Clay, a graduate of Aircraft Maintenance Technology.
Clay is the “Soul Balladeer” and Clique5’s lead singer. He was a guitarist and a vocalist of a band during his college days.
Another member of the group is Karl the “Campus Heartthrob,” who was also discovered in the Circle of Ten Walk To Fame.
He got his talent in dancing from his father who also used to dance in “That’s Entertainment,”a popular variety show in the 1980s which has produced several successful actors and singers. Karl has already starred in commercials and is also a brand endorser.
Just like Karl, Marco, and Karlo, Josh was also discovered Circle of Ten Walk To Fame. He is Clique5’s “Cutie Bae.”
