ABC should not be blamed on honoraria distribution delay, says Zafra

The Association of Barangay Councils (ABC) Cebu City President Phillip Zafra urged Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña to appoint a single person who will focus on distributing the tanod honoraria to avoid delay.

Osmeña has delegated yesterday to the Mayor Management Team (MMT) the assessment of the process and problems in honoraria distribution for barangay tanods.

The mayor took this step three months after the Cebu City Office for Substance Abuse Prevention (Cosap) took over in the processing of honoraria.

Zafra denied Osmeña allegations that the delay in the release of honoraria may be also caused by ABC’s late submission of supplementary documents.

The ABC President added that they are willing to cooperate to make the process faster if the mayor will be “fair enough not to put the blame on them.”

“Di man na sya ingon nga late kay gituyo og late kay every now and then mag-ilis sya og mga requirement. (We did not intend to submit late because the requirements change every now and then.),” said Zafra.
