A man who passed himself off as a delivery boy allegedly tried to rob a woman in barangay Pajac, Lapu-Lapu City last Monday afternoon.

Laurence Torrefiel, 37, a resident of P. del Rosario Street in Cebu City, was arrested after the victim was able to note down the registration plate number of the motorcycle he used in his getaway, police said.

The complainant, Beatriz Pasana, 44, said she was at home when Torrefiel arrived and said he was delivering a package.

Pasana said she allowed Torrefiel to get in.

Once inside, the man allegedly whipped out a gun and declared a hold-up.

The victim said that as the man was taking her Samsung Galaxy Tab worth P19,000 and P300 cash, she noticed that the gun he was holding was a toy.

The woman grabbed the gun which turned out to be a replica of a .45 caliber pistol.

The man fled empty handed, police said.

Chief Insp. Conrado Manatad, chief of the Mactan Police Station, said the motorcycle’s plate number allowed them to trace the suspect, who was eventually arrested in his home.
