CEBU’s chances to produce a grand champion for ABS-CBN’s Pilipinas Got Talent (PGT) Season 6 have improved as the dancing linemen from Cebu Electric Cooperative (Cebeco) II secured the last spot for the grand finals.
The Cebeco II Blue Knights got the nod of all three judges—Vice Ganda, Robin Padilla, and Angel Locsin last Sunday, completing the top 10 grand finalists.
The 40 dancing linemen performed a medley of popular Filipino nursery rhyme “May Tatlong Bibe” and a series of Philippine folk dances.
They also entertained the audience and judges with the popular “Taga Asa Ka” Budots (dance) challenge.
Vice Ganda expressed how much he was entertained by their performance.
“Mahirap at maraming maraming salamat kasi ni risk niyo buhay at safety niyo para ma entertain kaming lahat. Kaya maraming maraming salamat,” the comedian said.
Vice Ganda added he could not imagine himself standing at the tip of the pole.
“Ang hirap di ko maunawaan. Ako di ko makita sarili na gagawin ‘yun. Yung umakyat sa mataas ay mahirap na. Yung tumayo sa tuktok
napakahirap na. Lalo na kaya kung sumasayaw ka at gumagalaw ang kahoy di ko mawari,” he added.
Padilla, for his part, described the performance as extreme talent.
“Pinagsama sama niyo ang ibat ibang talent at ginawa niyo lahat. Ang tatapang niyo. Para sa ‘kin kayo ang pinakamagaling ngayong semi finals,” the action star explained.
Locsin called the performers the perfect example of a Filipino worker.
“Na kahit delikado susuongin ang lahat para sa pamilya. Susubukan gawin magmukhang fun kahit na delikado ito para lang maaliw ang sarili,” she said.
Aside from the Cebeco II Blue Knights, Jonacris Bandillo who showed his billiard moves also secured a spot in the grand finals.
Bandillo got the highest texting votes with 35.37 percent votes.
Cebeco II Blue Knights is not the lone group from Cebu that made it to grand finals for PGT Season 6.
Rhea Marquez and his dancesport partner Julius Obero took the eighth spot last week.
The other performers who will proceed to the final round are Nocturnal Dance Company, Orville Tonido, Kristel de Catalina, Xtreme Dancers, Bardilleranz, DWC Aeon Flex, and Joven Olvido.
The grand finals night is slated this weekend at Bren Z. Guiao Sports Complex and Convention Center in San Fernando, Pampanga.
