Police raid manufacturer of fake drivers’ licenses
Cebu City police raided the office of a suspected manufacturer of fake drivers licenses in the downtown area last Wednesday afternoon.
Two workers were picked up as witnesses to the falsification charges against the owner identified as Penny Usara.
The workers were identified as 22-year-old Jasper Lauron, a native of Valladolid Carcar City and his 19-year-old girlfriend Debie Carpentero, a resident of barangay Bulacao, Cebu City.
Urasa is reportedly engaged in making ID pictures in Colon Street and found that it also produced fake driver’s licenses.
Chief Insp. Romeo Santander, chief of the Cebu City Intelligence Branch (CIB) of Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) said the raid was a joint operation of Mandaue City and Lapu-Lapu City Police offices.
During the operation, Santander said they used decoys who posed as buyers of licenses.
After the decoy was given fake driver’s licenses, police then seized Usara’s equipment include one computer monitor, CPU and other paraphernalia in making faked driver’s licenses.
