Construction showcase links industry professionals, biz owners

MORE construction industry professionals, business owners and clients are expected to visit ongoing the 3-day 9th Philconstruct Visayas and the 9th HVAC/R Visayas at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino in Barangay Lahug, Cebu City.

The event, which opened last June 7 and unveiled 300 brands of building materials, construction equipment, interior products and cooling solutions, will be on its third day today (June 9).

Cebu Constructors Association (CCA), the organizer of the event, said that they were expecting 10,000 industry professionals to visit this year’s construction showcase, which has become a platform to link these industry professionals, business owners, and clients.

“We at CCA take pride in being part of this endeavor that has not only helped the Philconstruct brand widen its reach into the Visayas but has also contributed in its own way to the remarkable achievements of the industry over the last decade, making possible business deals and partnerships that continue to shape various construction developments in this region,” said Bernard Vonn Sia, event chairman for Philconstruct Visayas 2018 in a statement.

Philconstruct Visayas also highlights the HVAC/R Visayas, which is a trade show dedicated for heating, ventilating, air-conditioning industry. Aside from that, there are seminars and an outdoor exposition showcasing more than 50 heavy duty units.

Meanwhile, Alstra, formerly known as Concepcion Carriers Philippines, which is one of the firms participating in the HVAC/R Visayas, see the vibrant local market as one of the reasons for setting up shop in Cebu.

The firm expanded in Cebu in 2016.

“Members from the main office from time to time visit Cebu because we are really watching doon sa growth ng business here in Cebu. Grabe yung sa business and building industry dito,” Sherina May-Cabajar, Alstra strategic marketing and communications head in an interview on Friday.

Cabajar also cited Philconstruct as a venue to introduce Alstra to Cebu’s market and the end-to-end solutions it provides to potential clients or businesmen, who could talk directly to us.

Alstra markets international brands Carrier, which is known as world’s leading air conditioning company; Otis, a brand known in the elevators and escalator industry; and Toshiba, known for its technological advancements of the inverter technology.

According to Alfred Koa, Senior Regional Managar in Cebu, their clients include Mactan-Cebu International Airport Terminal II, JCenter Mall, Jpark Island Resort and Waterpark Cebu, Bank of the Philippine Islands, Jollibee, Mactan Newtown, Apple One building among others and certain condominiums/STC Intern Jaive Ria Agbon
