A free-for-all broke out late in the third quarter of the Philippines’ duel against Australia in the Fiba World Cup Asian Qualifiers Monday night at Philippine Arena.

The game was stopped at the 4:01 mark of the third quarter after a brawl erupted when Australia big man Daniel Kickert took out Gilas Pilipinas swingman Roger Pogoy with a shove.

The situation intensified when both benches cleared and it was hard to tell who hit who first. Officials are currently reviewing the video as of posting time. Australia is leading, 79-48.

Australia’s sharpshooter Christopher Goulding took the brunt during the unfortunate incident as several Gilas players like Allein Maliksi, Calvin Abueva and Troy Rike ganged up on him just outside the baseline.
