Typhoon ‘Maria’ to bring rain in some parts of PH–Pagasa
Heavy rains with strong winds due to thunderstorm may be experienced in Metro Manila and other provinces due to typhoon “Maria,” the state weather bureau said Saturday.
In its latest advisory, areas in Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, Bulacan, Pampanga, Quezon Province, Batangas, Bataan, Cavite, Laguna, Zambales, and nearby areas may also experience the same weather disturbance brought about by Maria, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
Typhoon Maria, locally named as “Gardo,” was spotted at noon Saturday some 2,005 kilometers east of Central Luzon with maximum sustained winds of 185 kilometers per hour (kph).
It has gustiness of up to 225 kph and moved northwest at 10 kph.
Pagasa advised the public to prepare for possible impacts of the typhoon, such as flash floods and landslides.
