Action in SHS-AdC Invt’l football begins Saturday
SOME 140 teams will be vying for their respective titles in the 3rd Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) Invitational Football Tournament, which starts Saturday at the SHS-AdC football pitch.
The tournament will be held on two weekends. To be played this weekend is the festival, which follows a 7-a-side format of play. The regular 11-a-side format for boys born 2003 will be held next weekend, wherein another 12 teams will be seeing action, said tournament organizer Engr. Nilo Ferraren.
Aside from the local teams, this year’s edition of the festival tournament has attracted teams from Maasin, Bohol, Davao, San Carlos City, Bayawan, Siaton, Sagay and Victoria.
Categories to be contested today are Mixed 6, Mixed 8, Boys and Girls 14, and Boys and Girls 17.
Tomorrow, categories to be played are Mixed 10, Boys and Girls 12, and Boys and Girls 19.
Ferraren said that the same in the previous editions, they will be awarding a specially made trophy to the category champions courtesy of his close friend, Ronea Bagabuyo of Dapitan.
Eagle-designed medals will also be given to each member of the winning teams.
