Former vice mayor wounded in gun attack in Batangas

SAN PEDRO CITY — A former vice mayor of Santo Tomas town in Batangas province was wounded in a gun attack on Saturday evening.

The victim, Ferdinand Ramos, was on his way home when he was shot by a lone gunman around 7:30 p.m. in Barangay Poblacion 2.

Ramos was hit in the face and was taken to the St. Cabrini Hospital in Batangas, according to Supt. Chitadel Gaoiran, spokesperson of the Calabarzon Police Regional Office.

Ramos, 59, served as vice mayor of Santo Tomas between 2013 to 2016. He ran for a second term but lost.
