Osmeña loses confidence in getting majority of council seats
Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña expressed concern on his plan to secure the majority of the seats in the council.
Reports of a massive vote-buying among barangay captains in the city have circulated in time for the Association of Barangay Councils (ABC) elections.
It was alleged that Mabolo Barangay Captain Prsica Niña Mabatid facilitated the buying of votes.
“I am not confident because there’s a lot of money but I’m hopeful. It’s not easy to turn down P1-million,” said Osmeña in a press conference today.
Meanwhile, the mayor shrugged off the claims of Mabatid that she received death threats.
“I don’t care,” Osmeña said.
