Kris Aquino as Princess Intan in ‘Crazy Rich Asians’

WITH promotions in full swing, “Crazy Rich Asians” is proving to be one of the most highly anticipated Hollywood movies this year.

Based on the novel written by Kevin Kwan, the film will be shown in Philippine cinemas starting August 22.

Aside from its lead stars, Constance Wu and Henry Golding, Filipinos are also looking forward to the participation of Queen of All Media Kris Aquino.

According to Teen Vogue, Aquino is portraying Princes Intan, a snobbish Malay princess.

Aquino confirmed this by reposting Teen Vogue’s article on her Instagram account three days ago.

A snippet during the interview of Kwan with Curtis S. Chin during the Milken Institute Global Conference was also reposted on Aquino’s Instagram account.

Chin asked Kwan if Aquino is part of the movie considering the Philippines as the biggest market of the film.

“Is she playing herself or in another character?” Chin asked.

“She is definitely in the movie. For me, she’s a highlight (in the movie),” Kwan answered.

“ ‘Cause this is gonna go viral in the Philippines,” Chin said, referring to Aquino.

“I hope so. She does not need my help. Everything she does gets viral,” the novelist said.

The film will also feature the works of Filipino designers Michael Cinco and Neil Felipp San Pedro.

Aquino is currently with her two sons Joshua and Bimby in Los Angeles, California to attend the Hollywood premiere of the movie on August 7.

Also in the movie is comedian Nico Santos, who confirmed on his Instagram account his role as Oliver T’sien.

Santos promoted the film on his Instagram account yesterday.

“As a Filipino actor, I am proud to be part of an all Asian cast in a big Hollywood movie and I can’t wait,” he said.

Santos is known for his character Mateo Liwanag in NBC’s  “Superstore,” an American television series.
