Marikina raises third alarm as river level reaches 18m
THE third alarm was raised yesterday over Marikina City as the Marikina River spilling level reached 18.3 meters due to continuous heavy rain.
The Marikina City government started forcing its residents to evacuate their homes and move to designated temporary shelters.
Earlier, the Pagasa issued a red warning over Metro Manila due to expected intense rainfall that could cause flooding in the region.
Alarm level 2 was raised over the city of Marikina at around 2:22 p.m. after its spilling level reached 16.3 meters.
