DANCESPORT Team Cebu International Inc. (DTCII) is inviting filmmakers to join the first DanceSport sa Sugbo Video Documentary Competition.
In a press release sent to Cebu Daily News, the group said commercial, non-commercial, amateur, and professional filmmakers are eligible to join the contest that is held in line with the staging of the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) Cebu Open 2018 and 10th Dancesport Sa Sugbu at the Grand Ballroom of the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino on September 8, 2018.
The theme of the competition is “How DanceSport Transformed Their Lives.”
The whopping P30,000 will be given to the winner of the contest.
“A teen-age boy frees himself from a predestined fate of drugs and crime, refusing to follow the trap that his two older brothers fell into. A young girl finds comfort among her fellow athletes as she fights stage four cancer fueled by a dream of continuing to dance. There is much about life you can learn here, and it is best these stories are shared to inspire others. So if you are a film maker in search of real stories, come join us here at the DanceSport Team Cebu International Inc.’s first DanceSport sa Sugbo Video Documentary Competition,” the press release stated.
Registration fee is P1,500. Interested participants can register at the DTCII Secretariat located at the ground floor of Cebu City Sports Center along R.R. Landon Street, Cebu City. One may also call telephone numbers 260-1850 or mobile number 0923-563-9110 and ask for Jenette Flores.
Registration deadline is this August.
The final produced entry must be submitted in two formats: HD (1 copy in USB) and DVD on or before October 5, 2018, Friday at 12 noon.
Criteria for judging include cinematography 10 percent, audio 10 percent, editing 10 percent, originality 10 percent, style 10 percent, direction 10 percent, overall content (logic and sequences of scenes, relevance to the theme, genre choice and appropriateness, entertainment value, informative and educational value) 40 percent.
