THE TELEPERFORMANCE Vipers gained a share of the top spot in the Elite Classic division after they dumped the Supportsave Fusion Dragons, 83-76, in the 2018 Tanduay Athletics E-Leagues for Basketball last Sunday at the City Sports Club-Cebu basketball court.
The Vipers dominated the last 10 minutes of action, outscoring the Dragons, 27-17, to nab their sixth win in seven tries, and tie Accenture in the standings at 6-1 (win-loss).
Germaine Guarisma had 22 points, five rebounds, six assists and six steals while Marcos Jungoy had 20 points, six boards and five assists to carry Teleperformance to the win.
Nino Belande piled up 29 points, 15 rebounds, six assists, three steals and a block but it was for naught as the Dragons fell to 2-4.
The Sykes Pioneers meanwhile, remained within striking distance of the leaders after they blew away the QBE Generals, 100-72.
Janjan Auditor was a man on a mission, tallying 31 points, seven boards, two assists and a steal to push Sykes to a 6-2 card.
Helping Auditor out were Zander Villacorta, who had 16 points, nine rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocks while guard Earldred Cesar Montilla put up 11.
Johnrey Girasol scored 19 points, Jecon Bonsucan added 18, Stuart Foot gathered 17 and Jan Michael Sanchez contributed 10 but QBE could not collect the win, suffering its fourth loss in five games.
