Police arrested two Cebu City residents and a Korean national during an anti-illegal drug operation in Barangay Carreta in Cebu City on Wednesday.

Senior Insp. Gualberto Oroc, deputy precinct commander of the Waterfront Police Station, said they arrested Patrick Aringue, 35, of Barangay Carreta; Gilbert Pedrano, 46, of Barangay Hipodromo, Cebu City and Korean national Seo Yong Hong, 38, of Seoul, South Korea during a buy-bust operation in Aringue’s house in Barangay Carreta.

Oroc said that they also confiscated 60 grams of suspected shabu from the suspects which has a Dangerous Drugs Board value of P708,000.

Oroc said they conducted the buy-bust operation after receiving reports of Aringue’s alleged illegal drug activities.

Oroc said that Seo was inside Aringue’s house when the operation was conducted and so he was also arrested.

Seo later told Cebu Daily News in an interview that he was here in the country to attend a hearing for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act (Republic Act 9165).

The three suspects were detained at the Waterfront Police Station detention cell pending the filing of charges.
