Feed the Children marks World Food Day in Naga

October 21,2018 - 09:01 PM

FEED the Children Philippines Inc. (FTCPI) joined the whole world in celebrating the World Food Day last October 16.

The activity was held in Barangay Naalad evacuation center in Naga City, Cebu to benefit the families affected by the landslide in last Sept. 20.

Feed the Children has been doing disaster response since September 21 through the provision of hot meal porridge for 30 days, psychosocial/spiritual intervention for adults and children, and providing hygiene kits, art and play materials for children.

On this special occasion, there were about 438 individuals, mostly children, savored the Herbalife healthy drink shake as their afternoon snack.

The activity was in partnership with Teleperformance, Freedom Mastery which provided the Herbalife product, and the volunteers from Barangay Tuyan, Naga who helped prepare the drinks and the Siopao for the children.

Food and Nutrition is one of the top priorities of Feed the Children. Feeding programs are done in all project sites most especially in schools where children are vulnerable to absenteeism and at-risk of dropping out because of hunger. /PR
