It may have been a cold weekend but things were sure heating up in the Miss Cebu 2014’s pre-pageant as four ladies claimed special awards last Saturday evening at the Activity Center of Ayala Center Cebu.
The rain may have been pouring but it did little to dampen the mood of the contestants who strut their stuff in the party wear created by Cebu’s top young designers.
Four stunners led by 21-year old Medical Technology graduate, Crystal Star Aberasturi, got a leg up on the competition as they were given awards.
Aberasturi went home with two awards: Miss Gems and Designs and Miss GT Cosmetics. Twenty-one-year old Accountancy graduate Grace Ann Marie Yap was adjudged Miss PLDT while 20-year Registered Nurse Hannah Marie Gore was named Miss Fiesta Island by Ayala Center Cebu award. Nineteen-year-old Nursing student Eva Psychee Patalinjug was given the Best in Fun Wear award.
It was a fashionable evening as the candidates wore this year’s party wear forecast by some of Cebu’s talented couturiers. Aberasturi, Gore and Rhodora Aloyon wore Jaypee Cabigon’s creations while Ayn Ingking, Margret Manolop and Kirstie Barbas walked the runway in the designs of Charmaine Chua.
Yap, Cheriemel Muego and Jennifer Rose Montecillo while Patalinhug, Natasha Manuel and Pearlyn Hortelano sauntered in Roni Yu’s masterpieces.
The 12 ladies competing for the crown are: Rhodara Marie “Rhodz” Aloyon, Crystal Star “Star” Aberasturi, Hannah Marie “Hannah” Gore, Ayn Ilya “Ayn” Ingking, Margret Tacy “Marget” Manalop, Kirstie Gayle “Kissie” Barbas, Jennifer Rose “Jen” Montecillo, Cheriemel Diane “Diane” Muego, Grace Anne Marie “G-Anne” Yap, Eva Psychee “Eva” Patalinjug, Natasha Angela “Natasha” Manuel, Pearlyn “Pearl” Hortelano.
The Miss Cebu 2014 pageant happens Wednesday night at the Grand Pacific Ballroom of the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.
