Padintol was standing along the road near the public elementary school in Barangay Tagbao on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2018, when he was shot twice, hitting him in the right shoulder and chin, with the second bullet lodging on his neck.

It was while he was he was being treated at the Don Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC) in uptown Cebu City when authorities learned about his pending cases.

According to Llamedo. their investigation showed that Padintol was a subject of a drug bust operation earlier this year by the Talamban police’s drug enforcement unit but he was able to elude arrest.

Authorities, meanwhile, eyed personal grudge as the likely motived in last Thursday’s attempt on Padintol’s life but they were mum on the identity of the suspect.
