THE ALABANG Eagles RFC successfully reclaimed the Dragon Cup with a 22-7 routing of the Cebu Dragons in the 11th Cebu 10s International Rugby Festival held last Saturday at the Cebu International School in Pit-os, Cebu City.
The Eagles were keen to bring back the Dragon Cup to Alabang after losing it to Hong Kong’s Rhinos FC last year. However, the Rhinos did not push through with their earlier plans of defending their title because they were lacking five players.
The Eagles advanced to the Dragon Cup final round with a 10-5 outsmarting of the Clark Jets.
Ruling the Dragons head were the Manila Nomads with their 10-5 thrashing of the USC Warriors while dominating the Dragons tail were the Mavericks, who routed the Barbarians, 17-5.
In the beach rugby held last Sunday at the Bluewater Maribago Beach Resort in Lapu-Lapu City, the Clark Jets took home the men’s and mixed titles while the SOS Children’s Village won the juniors crown.
