THE DEFENDING champions Lycans made their way back to the finals after escaping the Gifters, 63-62, in the semifinals of the Duterte Basketball League last Sunday at the Capitol Parish gym along Escario Avenue.
Former University of San Carlos top gun Sam Hermosa was the catalyst for the Lycans’ win as he authored a fantastic performance of 26 points while Rexon Moneva added 12 markers to help the team of businessman Dondon Aropo get the tough win.
The Lycans will be up against Paragsa in the finals after the latter triumphed over SAGBAF Enterprises, 64-54.
Former Letran Knight Franz Dysam was the team’s high-point man with 16 points while Junrey Hoybia and Nino Batiquin pitched in 13 markers each.
Game 1 of the best-of-three finals will be on Sunday evening at the same venue, after the conclusion of the third place match between SAGBAF and the Gifters.
