CEBUANO big men Greg Slaughter and June Mar Fajardo will be at the forefront of Team Pilipinas that will battle Kazakhstan tomorrow in the fifth window of the Fiba World Cup qualifiers.

The announcement was made by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas yesterday.

Slaughter, the former University of the Visayas (UV) Green Lancer, and Fajardo, the ex-University of Cebu (UC) standout, will be joined by Ginebra’s LA Tenorio, Japeth Aguilar and Scottie Thompson; San Miguel’s Alex Cabagnot and Marcio Lassiter; Rain or Shine’s Gabe Norwood and Beau Belga; Poy Erram of Blackwater; Matthew Wright of Phoenix and naturalized player Stanley Pringle of NorthPort.

The Philippine currently holds a 5-3 win-loss card, which puts them in third place in Group F.

The top three teams in Group E and F and the best fourth-placed team will earn tickets to the Fiba World Cup next year in China.

San Miguel big man Christian Standhardinger was not included in the 12-man roster as only one naturalized player is allowed for Fiba-sanctioned tournaments. He is, however, being eyed for the game versus Iran.
