Galvez: Duterte says no Martial Law in Luzon and Visayas

Armed Forces Chief of Staff General Carlito Galvez assured the public that President Rodrigo Duterte has no plans in declaring Martial Law in Luzon and Visayas.

He said that the Martial Law in Mindanao was able to neutralize the rebel groups in the area which resulted in a boost in the economy of the region.

Meanwhile, Galves said that the statements of President Rodrigo Duterte on the formation of a Duterte Death Squad is still being assessed by the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

He said that the formation of a countersparrow unit against the New People’s Army (NPA) is centered more of vigilance and intense intelligence operations while still upholding human rights.

Galvez was in Cebu for the 17th anniversary of the Central Command. ###
